We Oakeses in the States didn't have the chance to get to know Joe as well as we should. I only met him for one too short day - but from Christmas cards and social media, I could see what he brought to my extended family's life. He brought laughter, and caring, and love for the people that surrounded him. Along with Jo, he made two families into one - no small accomplishment.
